Flowmax Drainage Products FLOW RATES All sumps which are required to remove rainwater have a certified flow rate. The flow rate stated is the minimum flow achievable assuming the sump is in a clean workable condition. We have found that a greatly increased flow can be achieved when a dropper pipe of 100mm diameter and 600mm long is added. Our test recorded a three fold increase in the flow but the slightest interruption to the flow at the grate immediately reduces the flow to the rate specified.
