Hydrants & Risers

Data Sheet: WA Hydrant-Hydravalve

DESCRIPTION:
The Crevet WA Hydravalve is an underground hydrant designed and manufactured in accordance with the West Australian Water Corporation specifications.
The WA Hydravalve is the standard configuration for underground installation throughout Western Australia.
The WA Hydravalve is designed to be actuated by the use of a valve-actuating key that is separate to the standpipe assembly.
The WA Hydravalve has a standard discharge connection to which the operator affixes a dedicated standpipe. The discharge connection for the WA Hydravalve has a number of names including yoke, claw, and bayonet connection.

The WA Hydravalve consists of a floating jumper valve into a rising spindle. The floating jumper valve is a dezincification resistant brass unit with a polyurethane washer in contact with the sealing surfaces giving the WA Hydravalve a resilient sealing system. The floating jumper valve gives added benefit in negative head situations giving the WA Hydravalve an automatic single backflow prevention device.

BENEFITS:

  • Flow rate 25 l/s @ 500kPa
  • Corrosion resistant coating system
  • Compliance with AS3855
  • Backflow prevention
  • Lightweight Ductile Iron Body
  • Triple 'o'ring stem sealing system

PERFORMANCE DATA:

•    Max Recommended Operating Pressure:
•    Max Recommended Operating Temperature:
•    Flowrate @ 500 kPa:
1600 Kpa

25 l/s

COATING INFORMATION:
The WA Hydravalve is coated and lined with a thermal bonded polymeric coating system in accordance with AS4158. This standard specifies the minimum film thickness and performance characteristics to ensure continuity in the coating and subsequent product. The following table identifies the critical coating thickness requirements of AS4158 for both types of standard thermal coating systems used in the Australian water industry. The WA Hydravalve is also available in a bituminous coated and two pack epoxy version.
