Stainless Steel Tapping Bands

Crevet Stainless Steel Tapping Bands are specifically designed to suit all pipe types.
The wide band provides pipe support while the rolled edges eliminate edge loading ensuring even distribution of the clamp pressure, which is of particular advantage for use on non-metallic pipe. Having the seal totally captivated in a recess removes the risk of the sealing pressure relaxing over time. Installation of the tapping bands requires no lubrication or secondary tightening, speeding installation time and eliminating operator error. All tapping bands are manufactured from 316 Stainless Steel.
Crevet SS Tapping Bands have undergone and passed a high pressure test designed by the CSIRO and performed by Gas Technology Services NATA Laboratory.

The test was carried out on 100mm Crevet manufactured plastic class 12 PVC at 3725Kpa for 100 hours. The test proved the integrity of our tapping band and tapping band has no detrimental effect on the long life of PVC pressure pipe. Such rigorous testing has established a new benchmark in this Australian market.

Crevet SS Tapping Bands are easy to install. By following the installation steps below the tapping band is installed in next to no time. We have eliminated the need to post tension the bolt assembly as the sealing gasket is totally captivated. The area of the pipe around the tapping position must be smooth and free of dirt and grit.

INSTALLATION
STEP 1
After selecting the correct tapping band, fully loosen the nut/s but do not remove from the stud/s. Slide the locking plate back to the nuts and open the band. Ensure that no foreign matter has come between the pipe and the band. Crevet Tapping Bands do not require any lubricant on or around the seal.
STEP 2
After wrapping the band around the pipe lock into position with the locking plate and spin the nut/s down making sure that the band remains in the required position.
STEP 3
Tighten the nuts down to the recommended torque as indicated on the specification and installation instructions supplied with each item.
